James Oh, double black belt in Japanese Jujitsu, speaks with double no belt Jason and Kelcey. We take a truly epic ride through James' life story: growing up in the Midwest, taking on grueling martial arts training, and making life-changing decisions by coin flip.

Bio
James Oh holds a 4th degree black belt in both Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido and is a Shodan in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu. He has competed with and coached the US Team for the World Games with accolades including a silver medal in BJJ Grappling from the 2017 World Games in Gold Coast, Australia and a gold medal in Individual Sport Ju Jitsu from the 2019 World Games in Orlando, Florida. James also practices Muay Thai and when he's not training others, James can be found working as a Senior Project Coordinator with HGA Architects and Engineers.

Top Five Tips on Getting Through a Fight
  1. Know your surroundings / don't put yourself in a situation to have to fight.

  2. Don't engage (turn around and get out of the situation)

  3. Get out your cell phone and record the situation

  4. Do the Dirty (go for the vital areas - the balls for a guy)

  5. If absolutely necessary, go for the eyes.
